When selecting a sunscreen, it is very important to select one which is appropriate for your skin type. We should also look for the SPF in sunscreen, how much it is higher or lower. SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor. Ideally, SPF 30 to SPF 50 should be used for the maximum protection against sun damage.

It is also necessary to reapply sunscreen every two hours, especially after swimming or excess sweating. Do you know, Ultraviolet radiations that are coming from the sun can increase the risk of skin cancer by damaging the DNA in skin cells. To reduce the risk of skin cancer, we need to apply sunscreen regularly. Its also important to use sunscreen even on cloudy days.

The quantity of sunscreen also matters as to how much we apply it, neither we have to apply too much nor too less. Firstly, the amount of sunscreen depends upon the size of the area you want to cover exposed skin.

Ideally, for face, there is a two finger rule which suggests the amount of sunscreen application. So, simply you have to take sunscreen on two separate finger lines and apply to your face. Not applying enough quantity of sunscreen can minimize the benefits of that and cause damage to your skin.
